Caring for Your Teeth When Traveling

Posted on 2/10/2017 by Fady Ebid
A man preparing to travel in his car.
When you plan on traveling, you need to make sure you are still caring for your teeth.

This means making sure you pack a dental care package for your trip. This should involve at least a few essentials, plus a few things as a 'just in case' style setup.

Before you head out on your next trip, make sure that you have the following items packed so that you are prepared, no matter what circumstances you find yourself in.

Packing for Traveling and Your Teeth

The first thing you want to pack is two toothbrushes. Yes, you want two. One should go into your oral care package, and one should go in your carry on or your suitcase. That way, if one gets lost, you have a spare to at least brush with. You also want to pack at least one small travel pack of floss. This is important when caring for your teeth, no matter where your travels may take you.

Get yourself a travel size bottle of alcohol-free mouthwash and put it inside a sealable plastic bag. That way, if it leaks, it only leaks in the bag and no on everything in your bag. You also want to bring dental wax with you.

This is a great tool to have when you encounter any type of dental emergency. This can cover a missing filling, or even protect your mouth should a tooth crack or break.

Before you head out, make sure you also see your dentist. Go into your trip with a healthy mouth so you will be less likely to encounter a problem while you are there.

Get a cleaning, have any cavities filled, and make sure that your teeth are in good shape before you head out. Then, you can enjoy your trip without worrying about a dental emergency.

Please contact our office if you have any questions about your oral health.
